Bordeaux’s dry whites, rosés, sweet wines and crémants are explored. Beginning with the location and its climate the book moves on to outline the history of white winemaking in Bordeaux and the varieties grown. Key producers and significant wines of each appellation are explained and vintage white Bordeaux is assessed.This insightful book examines in detail the lesser-known wines of Bordeaux – the dry whites, the rosés (including Clairet), the sweet wines (beyond just the famed Sauternes) and the relative newcomer crémant, the sparkling wine which now represents almost 1.5 per cent of all Bordeaux wine.
